Description
Enlisted personnel from Base Hospital 21 stand by a water container used for emergency purposes in case of fire. From left to right, Joseph Magidson, Tom Lodge, Duane Hutchinson, and James B. Costen. Lodge was an operating room assistant. The others worked in the clinical laboratory. Costen and Magidson became doctors after the war; both were graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in the early 1920s.
