John F. Patton, MC, receiving his 'wings' from the 21st General Hospital's Commanding Officer, Col. Lee D. Cady. Patton, who served as chief of the Surgical Service, was promoted from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel on April 5, 1945. Lt. Col. Abe A. Bolotin is at right.
